E Contact
Please note that we seem to get tons of emails every day and so it is almost impossible for Dr. Nesbitt to communicate with you by email. We can try but don’t count on it.
It is always better to discuss the nature of your problem in person so that a full podiatric medical evaluation can be done. Often dermatological problems are related to orthopaedic/biomechanical problems such as calluses due to pronation or a plantarflexed metatarsal etc.
In other words, by doing a proper foot examination, all the interrelated systems can be evaluated such as vascular (circulatory), neurological, biomechanical and orthopaedic, as well as dermatological concerns.
Appointments by email are not being done at this time. We would prefer that you call the office and we would be pleased to discuss any concerns you have at that time.
Fees
OHIP pays a portion of a visit to a podiatrist’s office, but not much. They cover only about $16 for an initial visit which costs
$99. (Your fee would therefore be $83).
Subsequent visits are partially covered by OHIP and they pay (only) $11, and the patient pays
$34.
X-rays may be required and they are taken in our office in a weight bearing position.
Note that many x-ray clinics take x-rays of your feet while you are sitting or laying down.
However it is more accurate to have standing x-rays since they tell us the actual functional positions of the 26 bones of each foot. When you are standing, your bones are in a different structural position and show possible problems with walking more accurately than non-weight bearing x-rays.
Fees for x-rays are $48.
